Shiny Fondand

Hi guys

I am trying to figure out how to make my fondant shine. Is there a special finish I can use?
Any advise?

thank you

If you have a steamer, just “steam” the fondant…just be careful not to get too close. Use lightly and you will get a shine on the fondant. Hope this helps.

is the shine going to stay or will be gone after fondant dries?

You can use a steamer, or brush it with vodka. If you need a high gloss look use a 50/50 vodka and corn syrup.

Look, if you don’t have a steamer just use the iron with steamer, but don’t go to close to the cake. The shine is not going to stay but you will remove all the corn flour and icing sugar. If you want to have a shine you have to use the Edible glaze spray by PME or try what Yari recommended, vodka and corn syrup. Hope this helps.xoxo

As Yari said, vodka and corn syrup in equal parts give your cakes a glossy shine. You can rub your cake with shortening or paint it with eggwhite as well
