cracking fondant

Hi all,
I’m new to this business n I’ve been trying my hands on fondant cakes. There are a couple of fondant recipes I used but the fondant seems to crack when I try to cover the cake. Could someone plz share a good fondant recipe and alsoplz advice me as to why the cracking seems to be happening? Is there any way I cud correct the fondant?

Thank you
Regards

I don’t have a recipe for fondant since I use store bought, but my guess your cracking problem is due to your fondant drying out. Do you use cornstarch or powdered sugar to roll your fondant?

If so mat try using less of those and see if that helps. Another alternative is to use shortening or even rolling you fondant between two sheets of vinyl that has been greased with shortening.

I say this all the time when someone questions fondant problems. I LOVE my mat from sweetwise. It was the best investment I made.ni used to have so many cracking, tearing and elephant problems before I bought it.

Hi Deepthi,
I make my own fondant, and have tried many recipes in the past until I found Liz Marek’s Marshmallow Fondant recipe. Now it is the only one I ever use. So easy to make and use. No cracks, at all, always perfect. Here is the link to the recipe.

Try it, you will love it too!!
