ok so this cake was all an experiment as i was wanting to try pleats, i was worried all the differant colours would’nt go well together but thankfully it came together so here is a tutorial on how i did it :)
i started by colouring all my fondants i did 10 differant shades i used 9 on the actual cake, colours i used were holly green, party green a lighter and darker shade, honey gold, ivory, autumn leaf, red, orange, golden yellow, dark brown and chocolate.
for the strips i used a ruler and measured strips 2inch in width and about 8-9inch in height that was for a double barrel 8inch round cake. i used 2 strips at a time for each colour pushing down at the top and tucking in with a knife at the bottom to keep it neat.
i used mason and cash leaf cutters, i blended some of the colours together to make a more realistic looking leaf i made 20 using the differant colours and left them to dry.
for the pine cones i used a polysterine ball, i covered this in brown fondant and then rolled out some more and used one of my nozzles to get a smaller round shape and then pressed them out in my hands and starting at the top of the ball pushed on the circles pulling the ends down to curl it slightly, i then brushed on some autumn leaf color.
for the board i mixed some brown fondant with the autumn leaf i rolled out on the board and then used the fmm tree impression mat and went over with that, then brushed over with autumn leaf to give a more authentic look.
once my leaves had dried i placed my pine cones on the top and placed leaves around them and used royal icing to stick some to the sides.
i hope that was helpful! im not really good at explaining things so tried to keep it simple :)
