I am a stay at home mom and wife. I went to college for forensic science & criminal justice and was collegiate basketball player, never thought I would be where I am at today! We have 2 boys that are 13 months a part, I say it was my husband's fault....and Iowa football. when our oldest was 2 1/2 he was non verbal, he had many health problems...many. when our 2nd was born we noticed he had some issues as well. When our oldest Joe was 5 he was diagnosed with Autism, Developmental difficulties, speech delayment and auditory processing disorder. It was not long before our youngest was diagnosed with Spectrum disorders, it was literally a trickle down effect of problems. I quickly became their therapist as well. I became so overwhelmed and needed something just for me to do, and that's where I refound baking. I became immersed in baking especially since it was already up my alley in the science field. I feel back in love with my childhood passion of being in the kitchen . I love creating brand new one of a kind cake recipes and pairing those with unique fillings. Once I got back in the grove of baking, I started to decorate. I am a complete triple type A personality, the perfectionist. I taught myself to create amazing tasting, one of kind cakes and pastries. I wanted to know how to get clean, sharp, flawless Cakes, so I did everything that many of us do...immerse ourselves in YouTube, bookmark every site I Google to hone in on my craft. I am the same as most, a forever work in progress. I bake out of my home, and have taken on the name of the Cake Lady. I have the dream of building my owN cake studio onto my house. I have started to teach courses to high school and college students on cake basics as well as how to cover with fondant. I love the path I am on right now, this journey will take me to endless possibilities...that's a little bit about me!
