Hello Chezza, I do not have a tutorial, but I would suggest that you need to do very little to your models to add “age”. As a painter, I’ve discovered that a little goes a long way. Sculpt your faces in the usual manner, making the hair gray, if the couple has gray hair with just a hint of laugh lines at the outer corners of the eyes. That is really all that is needed to suggest age without over-doing it.
I made a pair of glasses for my John Lennon model using a fine gauge wire, wrapping it around a skewer to form the lense frames. Just takes a little twiddling. They do not look great, but they worked.

Thanks

Well I did my elderly couple and after having numerous heads on sticks and headless bodies in my work area I finished them and the cake. Im just hoping it arrived in the UK safely and in one piece. Thanx again for your help. Sandra I ended up having their glasses beside them on the garden bench and on her lap.

Well, that works! Rather clever, I would say :o) Is the link above a picture? I couldn’t open anything.

Nice job—I had to laugh when I read about your having numerous heads on sticks. I always end up throwing the first try out. I finally was able to do one decently the first time but the body was headless for a while. It took me some time to get the nerve to try the face. This year I’m determined to master making a decent face. I think the trick is to find a method that works for you.

Thanx. How do you upload a photo. I tried but it didnt work

This is the one I did recently for my brother. Testing to see if picture shows up.

To add picture here simply click on the tab to the left of preview, choose the pic to upload and hit submit. To add to your gallery so everyone can see it, go to the + symbol at the upper right hand corner and choose new cake then follow the directions.

Your cake is amazing!! Thanx for advice. I’ll try it now
This what I got after I hit submit
