Im getting used to it already just changed my name back lol

I was having a heart attack yesterday when I couldn’t log on!!! I was wondering is it just me? What’s happened? Was slightly shocked to see the new look but slowly getting used to it, I think it’s great to see everyone’s real name lol but I’m glad everybody is still on the site- wouldn’t know what to do without you guys!! :-)

Finding the ads really annoying from my mobile phone but otherwise seems good, like you say, we need to embrace change! Ha. Also enjoying the notifications button, told me you’d posted this Christine! Hadn’t really thought about the fact my name isn’t my business name, maybe I should bite the bullet and change…

I think the change is great, I absolutely love the the new layout and features. However I think that the resolution on the photos needs to be bumped up

I wanted to thank Michal for all of this hard work in updating Cakes Decor, but to be honest, I preferred the old site. I am having a hard time with the purple background. It is much harder on the eyes (at least my old eyes) trying to read the white lettering against the purple background. I can’t seem to be able to find anyone now that the Members bar is no longer available. How do we message someone if we can’t find them?

Yeah, im quite missing the members bar and also you cannot see who has faved your cakes

Toni I am 37 and my eyes are certainly taking a beating now and the cakes do not look sharp that also contributes to eye strain.

As for the photo resolutions, I thought it just came down to the individual persons photo. When you look at the home page some are blurry yet others are very crisp.

The members bar is still there, at the top you click on the three heads and you get to see who is online and all the other members.

Maybe it my computer :0(

Oh.. Hmmm I’m using my phone, actually when I first came on here this morning it wasn’t there. I think the site is still adjusting so give it abit of time- it will definitely pop up

Still trying to adjust to the changes, I totally got lost for the first few minutes.

I think it is going to take some time to get used to the changes. Feeling a little lost right now. lol

To be honest I prefer the old version of the site..In my opinion it was more elegant, clearer..sorry. I don’t like very much the new layout, the photo’s resolution..but maybe in the future using it I will like it more than now.

Daily top 15?

I have just accessed the site a few minutes ago and have to say that I like the new design. It is faster than before and once you get used to it, it is more user friendly I think. With regards to the favorites, the only inconvenience I can think of is that I will not be able to thank those who add my cakes to their favorites.

Noreen – Daily Top 15 list is still on the home page and daily top cakes are posted on our Facebook page as well.

I have only just got onto Cakes Decor now…. Michal and the team have done an amazing job with the revamp!!! whoo hoo Michal… :) I also noticed the name changes.. :)

Starting to get used to it already. I love that you’re being responsive to everyone’s comments Michal. There’s such a sense of community here on cakes decor.

I know you tried your best, but sorry, Michal, I prefer old version, it was more stylish, also you can see top 15. This remains me Cakecentral that I’ve never liked.
I always browsing Cakesdecor on my computer, because never use my phone for internet browsing.:((

You know Michal I’ve been using the site all day now and I’m loving it!! Did take awhile to get used to but really liking it, good job!!

Hey Gulnaz, I disagree, this is nothing like cake central. You can still see daily top 15, just that they arent numbered and i dont think they need to be.
Im finding it exactly the same as before, navigation wise nothing has changed its just cosmetic and new features added :)
Im always on here with my galaxy note tab, so I dont know if that makes any difference, but I checked on my partners pc yeaterday and all seems the same.
What first attracted me to CD was the easy navigation and layout and its still great! :)

starting to get used to the change… at first I didn’t like how the daily top 15 weren’t numbered… but I guess it doesn’t really matter. I do have one question… will there still be a ‘cake decorator of the week’? & if there is already… where is that? x

Id completely forgot about cake decorator of the week, nice icing is that at the moment and im sure michal will have it back up as soon as he can :)

I thought i was on the wrong site, it reminded me of cakecentral a bit. Nice new add ons, but i do prefer the original colour scheme it felt cleaner and sharper. Don’t mean to offend as i’m sure you’ve worked hard on this, so well done anyway.

I’m sorry, but don’t plan to launch the Cake Decorator of the Week in near future. Maybe we will reconsider re-launch it later.

i THINK THE SCREEN IS TOO DARK THE PICTURES ARE NOT CLEAR.

I loved cake decorator of the week.
It was good for many reasons
- it displayed a decorator that had made some great recent cakes
- it gave the decorator publicity on the home page
- every sunday I would get excited to see new decorator
- motivation to make better cakes to try and become cdotw.

How do you search cakes by the tags? I cant find how to search

Hi Cincinnati – this is not implemented yet. It was In the previous version, but we were not able to implement it here so far. Be sure to add tags to your cakes, since once it will be implemented, only cakes with tags will be displayed in the search by tags ;)
