I can’t believe how many people work in IT and are cake decorators! :) I too have a full time IT job from 6am-2:30pm from my home office, so I also am able to take care of my 2yr old and 4yr old, then after they go to bed, I do all of my caking… I don’t think I’ve done a cake yet, that hasn’t been completed between the hours of 3am and 6am! I would absolutely love to be able to support my family the way I am now from my corporate position, but decorating cakes instead. I don’t see that happening in the near future though… Maybe after I retire? :)
All kidding aside though, I personally don’t have the baking skills or the support team behind me to open my own shop. I really only cherish the decorating portion of the cake process, but if you have a passion for baking and decorating, maybe eventually a shop could be something worth looking into :)
