Wedding Swan on Tufted Billowing

4 tier pillared wedding cake featuring tufted billowing, ruffles, drapes and a hand modelled gum paste swan.

This was my final assignment cake for TAFE and was on display at the local shopping centre. Not much sleep was had whilst creating this one, and the house look like a tornado hit it.

The poor kids had a small section on the stove they could use to make their breakfast; I dominated every other surface in the house LOL

A posy pick is inserted in the top tier to hold the feathers.
Board is covered with white RTR and embossed with a floral rolling pin.

Purple is her favourite colour but I loathe working with it; fades soooo fast.

For my daughter; A 4 tier Spring Blossom Communion cake. (Even though it’s Autumn down here :-)

The petal tier (7”) and top sphere are styrofoam covered with fondant. The double barrel (5” Red velvet cake and a 5” strawberry & white chocolate mud cake) was covered with fondant and stippled with royal icing.

My first attempt at stippling, petal layers, covering a sphere, and double barrel stacking. I am sure you can see my inspiration has been drawn from the fabulous cakes and tutorials @ CakesDecor.

THANK YOU!!!

Top tier 5” strawberry and white choc mud cake with white chocolate ganache filling. The cake was then covered in a coating of ganache, and marbled chocolate and white RTR.

Bottom tier 7” dark choc mud cake with a chocolate ganache filling, and covered in a coating of ganache and white RTR.

Decorations are made of coloured RTR; a leaf cutter was used to create the flames. I had made more ladders (some missing rungs etc) but this was definitely a case of less is more.

Board is covered in chocolate RTR and trimmed with brown and white ribbon.

NOTE Florist pick was inserted in the top tier to hold the red steamers.
