This cake was collected today by the husband of the lady who ordered the cake ... she had ordered 40 co-ordinating cupcakes … and the husband dropped them as he was loading them into the car! I nearly cried! God knows what his wife did to him!!!

I made this wedding cake a while ago, and I know it doesn’t have ruffles or a birdcage (!) – so may not be “in vogue” right now, but it is still one of my all time favourite cakes that I have made – maybe ‘cos I love making flowers!

I made this for a lovely girl who was turning 16. I have struggled to find a purple food colour that I actually like in the UK – and sugarflair have brought out a new purple, which I mixed with the wilton purple. I really was pleased with the end colour.
