Emily into shopping, shoes, clothes, Radley, Cath Kidston, Hoping for a Pandora bracelet! (can you spot the pandora logo?) and studying to be a nurse….David a helicopter pilot, mainly over the North sea to the oil rigs, small planes as a hobby, four stripes and loves walking his Cairn terrier….think I got it all! Bottom tier Vanilla, top tier chocolate fudge …always a favourite!

I had total free reign on the design of this cake..my absolute favourite kind of customer!! I was told that Tassia loved Louboutin shoes and that her favourite colour was blue and she didn’t like things too girly, other than that I had total freedom to do whatever I liked…Brilliant! These colours looked so lush and bold in real life! White choc mud, lemon and top tier chocolate orange.

Have had this cake planned for some time..I was so excited about this order! But really nervous too. It had to travel far so was quite a technical challenge. Is all chocolate fudge cake apart from the very tip which is solid chocolate. Cake pops were a mixture of chocloate and chilli chocolate..I made sure they were clearly marked!! For scale the board is 16inch.

I had total free reign on this cake, Tia had no idea what she was getting , I love to be able to work like this. I have been wanting to do an Alice in wonderland inspired cake for ages so was over the moon to be requested this theme.

Lots of firsts for me with this cake. Firstly I’m not really used to doing pretty cakes so this was quite different in style for me. I had not attempted a 4 tier wonky cake before especially one that was to travel 90 miles by car on wiggly roads! I had to design it in two parts that would be easy to stack together by the family of the birthday girl at the other end. It was a 12inch chocolate mud cake, 9inch vanilla, 7inch chocolate mud and 5 inch vanilla, All three layers high!
Also the first time I’ve ever painted on a cake…put it off for so long before I was brave enough to give it a go! Turned out I really enjoyed it! The final challenge for me was completeing it in time! and also making the 100 mixed flavour cupcakes to go with it, chocolate, caramel and toffee :0)

For a little boys first birthday. The party was a shabby chic theme. I tried to choose colours and images that were pretty but boyish at the same time. Bottom tier is an 8 inch cake and 8inches high a challenge to cover!!

Now I know she looks a bit happy to be captive but it’s for a four year old so don’t want to be too realistic/scary/gruesome! I like to think she is smiling because she has managed to send a couple of messages in bottle’s and knows that help is on it’s way while the pirate decides between rescuing his treasure or being eaten by sharks :) enjoyed this cake can you tell!!

A christening cake to fit in with a woodland/natural themed celebration. Both parents are very creative, dad is a photgrapher and mum is a graphic designer so no pressure!! The design is based on an invite that Abbie designed herself. Can not wait to see the photos of the cake set up with all the other autumnal decorations.

Couldn’t wait for the opportunity to do a cake in this style so was so pleased to have free rein on this one, influenced by andreas sweetcakes.

Had fun decorating this cake, wasn’t so keen on the research though had to watch quite a few episodes to get all the angles and details of the house, the theme tune was getting slightly annoying after a while! Really love working with these bright colours.

For my sons 8th birthday so we actually get to eat this one!! It matches his skylanders birthday present and was a real hit with all the kids at the party, one mum said her boy talked about the cake for the rest of the evening, this is the best compliment I have ever had! :)

Kermit. For a guy called Justin who goes by the name of Kermit! All vanilla cake apart from below the lower mouth section which is RKT :)

One of my first cakes from back when I had just become Fatcakes in August. I will be redoing a similar version of this cake soon so while I was reminiscing through my photos I thought I would share :0)

My friends wedding cake and cupcakes. Her and her new husband are into harleys, dragon tattoos etc. But just for one day she wanted to be pink, ivory and all things pretty! Made a traditional fruitcake with traditional decoration. Not modern roses placed on the cake but a wired spray, My version of vintage.

This cake was for a friends daughter, a very funky soon to be 9 year old. The shoe is handcut and handpainted and was quite a feat to get it to dry in all this damp weather and todays humidity but it stayed put in the end!

Ok not technically a cake, but it will be decorating one soon when I have made a few more to go with it. Just wanted to share as pleased with how it turned out in the end!

Have got to admit when I was asked for a wonky cake in lime green and lilac with a fruit middle tier I was slightly nervous as to how it would turn out! It was a completely new experience for me but I really enjoyed it in the end, and the colour scheme really grew on me.

Brighton and Hove Albion home shirt. My first football shirt cake, I was focusing on staying as neat as I could, quite pleased with the result. Teddy loved it! so that makes it all worthwhile for me! :0)

One of my first ever cakes that was for a paying customer, It was a big nerve racking moment delivering this one!

Supplied this design to a local florist to use in their display at a wedding fair. Was quite difficult to be as original as I would have liked with this one as there is so many birdcages out there, But this is my version, hope you like it!
