Circus theme for a 1st birthday.

Royal icing Eiffel Tower. I used a tutorial by Sugar Duchess to make the Eiffel Tower. I was so excited to make it, that I forgot to keep in mind the size and shape of the cake it had to go on! LOL!! The birthday girl and mom really liked the cake, so that’s all that matters!! The tower itself stood just over 11”. The cake is all buttercream with a fondant bow.

I’ve seen several versions of this cake, so not sure who to give credit to for inspiration… It’s an adorable theme for a baby shower!
White buttercream icing with dark pink fondant stripes. The popocorn are mini marshmallows. The baby’s head is also cake.
Wish my client had known about the cupcake wrappers that have the red & white stripes for the matching popcorn cupcakes.

Sock Monkey for a 1st birthday

This is Heavy Arms from Team Fortress 2. In the game his arms/hands are really big, thus the oversized hands. His hands and forearms are RKT. His head is a carved styrofoam ball. The rest is cake.

This was a labor of love!! LOL!! 17 hrs of work went into making this cake. Very pleased with how it turned out though!!

Groom’s cake, based on one of his trophies. The rock is cake with a buttercream icing. The skull is a 50/50 mix of gumpaste/fondant. The antlers are wired and covered with royal icing.

This is meant to replicate a phoropter used by an optometrist. It was for a local eye care center celebrating it’s 1st anniversary.

My client sent a pic of a Club Penguin cake done by Jenny Amaya (Peru). She wanted that cake. So, this one is pretty close to what Jenny did.
The palm trees and North pole are not edible. Everything else is made with fondant.

For a young man’s 70th birthday. He collects lighthouses. The statue in the background iis one of his favorites. The cake itself is 5 tiers, iced in buttercream with the black and tan accents in fondant.

For an 18th birthday that included a few of her favorite things. A Starry Night in buttercream, a fondant Slytherin logo, a fondant cake topper that matched the centerpiece at her recital, Happy Birthday in Japanese and a photo of her puppy (on side of cake).

Another year wiped away! Just a different kind of over the hill cake.
The plunger bottom and paper roll are cake covered with fondant. The plunger stick is a plastic tube covered with fondant.

80’s themed birthday cake. The Rubik’s cube is 3 individual layers with buttercream icing and fondant squares. The hairspray is cake with an edible image and fondant accents.

A 3D bust of Nathan Drake from the PS3 game Unchartered. He’s no where near as handsome as the guy in the video game, but at least you can eat this one!!!
His head is styrofoam and the torso is cake.

3 young besties who all shared birthdays within a few days of each other. Their names all start with the letter K. They had one big party for all 3 of them.

My client brought in a pic of an Avengers cake, don’t know the source though. We added the symbols for Black Widow and Hawkeye so all the heroes were represented from the 1st movie.
Hulk’s fist and Thor’s hammer are RKT.

The ruffles and carriage are covered in fondant. The middle layer is buttercream. All the characters and blocks are made from fondant. Cinderella’s chair is royal icing.

This design was inspired by Flora Aghababyan’s white peacocks. This one is iced in all buttercream The peacocks are made from a 50/50 of fondant & gumpaste.

This was based off of a Martha Stewart design. It’s all buttercream though. The groom picked this out. The bride did not know what the wedding cake looked like until she walked into the venue. Needless to say, the groom was a little stressed!
