6 inch birthday cake for special 50th celebration. Customer wanted a small cake for her mother-in-law to cut and some cupcakes to share. The lovely lady loved the color lilac and she also loved gardening. I did not have enough time to make a “gardening” cake so this is what I came up with. Butter pecan cake with vanilla buttercream with handmade fondant decorations. 36 cupcakes (chocolate/red velvet and butter pecan all with vanilla buttercream). The topper for the cake was suppose to be a big silver 50 made of fondant but when I attempted to put it on the cake it broke. I had to come up with something quick so I made the medallion. I am pleased with it as I think it matches the theme of the cake pretty well.
