New beginnings #23: All good things come to those who wait

As the title suggest all good things come to those who wait :-)
This is hard to so at times when all you want to do is get started, but I will get there.
I keep thinking to myself am I good enough then I found this and its so true :-)

Today I get to have fun in the kitchen I’m making my daughters boss a giant cupcake birthday cake.
I’m looking forward to the weekend as its a trip to B&Q not very cakey I hear you say but it’s for my kitchen, I’ve decided that the black tiles are no good so white its going to be.
I’ve got accounts to organise and plan which will be fun and more level 2
I will keep updating through the day so keep checking back you can also find me on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kirsties-Cakes/398359576917809?fref=ts

Well after an eventful couple of days I can report I finally got my cake finished.
I had forgotten I had changed to a new mixture so it took 3 attempts to get the giant cupcake perfect but I have the timings off to a T now.
The cake is a plain sponge cupcake with buttercream and jam filling encased in a milk chocolate base with piped ganache on the top and unwrapped ferrero rochers finished off with a touch of edible spay gold on them.
I didn’t have time to so the lettering in chocolate paste so its and edible image cut and shapes just to add on.

I have to say I did enjoy making this cake and its truly a chocolate lovers cake

Let the cakey adventure begin :-)

Also, that quote is so true, but I have to add that the really greatest ones should have a Talent and usually works 2 times harder than the others.

Everyone has to start somewhere and the worst thing you can do is compare yourself to someone else in this cakey world. It’s hard, I know. In a year when you look back on your cakes you’ll be able to see how far you have come and it will feel amazing! Being able to see for yourself how you have grown, even if it may take longer than others is a great feeling. Good luck with your giant cupcake! Tea Party Cakes has a wonderful tutorial for sale on her page.
