New beginnings #11: Chocolate house

Normally at this time of year I have all the teachers presents sorted, normally something personalised or unusual but this year I bought a house mould from lakeland.
I tested it out for my brother in laws 18 th and he loved it so decided that’s what I would do for my daughters 3 teachers
As per usual I’ve left it till the last minute but I had been making my battlefield cookie cake.
So this morning I made a start on melting the chocolate.
All has not gone to plan :-( the first house parts didn’t turn out right some had white makes on so I broke them up re melted and moulded again.
It’s now 6:50pm UK time and I’ve got 2 sets of parts set and ready to assembly.
The mould has been washed and is as I type drying ready for me to melt the last chocolate and let that set.
Then the task of assembling and decorating starts on all 3 as I have to have them finished for the morning :-( good job I work well under pressure haha
When I tested it out for my brother in law I used frosting to put the parts together and it just was not stable or solid enough so this time I’m trying melted chocolate.
I’ve decided as well that any white marks can easily be covered with sweets or something.
One thing I have been happy about are the giant cello bags I bought from eBay they have holly all over and are he perfect size to put my 10inch cake boards into when I’ve finished.
Ill add another blog when there finished and let you know how it went along with final photos.
Wish me luck I think it’s going to be along night

Let the cakey adventure begin :-)
