Handpainting...my favorite technique (at least for now! Ha!)

I have really gotten into handpainting as of late and LOVE it. I blend Americolor or Wilton color gels with a Super White color gel and get the color to form a consistency similar to that of acrylic paint. I actually did not know how much like acrylic it truly was until one of my most recent cakes….Leo of the Zodiac. I needed to do a realistic portrait, and this color gel blend did not disappoint! I used to be an art major back in Junior High and High School (in collage I went on to major in Marketing instead), and painting on cakes really takes me back to the enjoyment I remember having in my school art classes! I am ready to paint an ENTIRE cake…sides and top…next!
