Interview

How did you first get started with cake decorating?
Everything began by accident in july 2011. I approached the sugar past, which gratified me more intimately than any other thing, imagining that all this world made of sugar and imagination could draw me to such an extent as to make this passion a true vocation.

What has been your greatest challenge?
The biggest challenge? Go to america in february 2012, when i participated in austin, “that take the cake”….Winning the first place in my category…The cake with the elves…!A real dream for me….Having started in a few months with cakes.

What is the most rewarding part of cake decorating?
The most rewarding part of cake decorating is to decrate a cake for me and modelling characters, because it’s constantly new challenge.

Could you give some tips to people who have just started decorating cakes or would love to start?
A tip for those who have just started to decorate is to practice every day with little things, such as teddy bear, animals, and never give up, even if they done something they don’t like …The time perfects us…

How did you find CakesDecor.com and what is it that keeps you coming back?
I found cake decor on the internet..I like it a lot because all members share the same passion for cakes.

I love my creations and in each of them there is a lot of myself, my joy, my strength, my passion, everything! My favorite cake is pinocchio…Beacause it represents my childhood, my world of fantasy…I love all Walt Disney’s cartoons … I promise to make them all as soon as i have time.

What’s been the biggest surprise in all of this for you?

Pam your figures are truly amazing – you are an artist for sure. To all our American cake decoraters, beaware that many of these figures are copywrited here in the USA and — You can do them to be judged, or for your personal use BUT don’t get caught by selling cakes with copywrited characters. It can be very costly. With Facebook and all the other on-line sites displaying peoples cakes – They are seen everywhere!!!

Absolutely beautiful work and a brilliant interview. I can’t wait to see what you make next Pamela
