As I was getting ready to make some cacti for a southwestern cake, I realized that I didn’t have a cactus cutter. No worries… I downloaded a picture from clip art, printed it and made a template. The first cactus was just too plain, so I decided to add some texture by using a non-slip shelf cover – the type used to put underneath cakes so they won’t move around – the mat has a great texture, which brought life to my cactus.

Time management is a key ingredient to cake decorating success. I have found a way to work ahead. Recently, I used this method and was able to complete 3 cakes, all with detailed fondant accents, in just a few hours. (all the fondant work was completed ahead of time) All I had to do was ice my cakes, and place the completed, shaped fondant on the cakes. This method kept the fondant flexible. I was able to fit the fondant decorations, to several cakes into one plastic 12 X 12 case. The 12 X 12...

My friends, I am sharing with you all part 1 of my video tutorial on how I made some of the BAUBLE CAKES shown on the photos above. ClICKSTIX is one of my favorite tool but just like every other tools I have, I was faced with a big “uh-uh” moment when I first used it. I am not one to give up specially on something I had set my heart on to so I experimented on various ways to effectively use it.
Here’s my very effective way of using my CLICKSTIX letter cutters.
Enjoy and happy caking :)

I came across a most adorable bow online that had the cutest little hot pink owl, and I knew that I had to make it out of fondant:) So here is a pictorial that I put together on how I made her.
I am working on putting together a tutorial of the girly bow that I made with the little owl on top.
Thanks!

I made this tutorial (my first ever) a couple of months ago when I needed a small amount of black fondant for a special project… it was an experiment that worked brilliantly!!! Hope you get some help from it, click through the pictures for instructions please :)
The objective was to make an economical black coloured fondant – because here it is about $16 for 500 grams and I think thats a terrible price… I begin with just 10 ordinary white marshmallows (cheaper ones work b...
