Beautiful

Wafer paper might work well. Just thinkin 😉

I can’t think of a way to do it with floral tape but you should be able to do it with wafer paper. That is how I did the leaves for this
It was two pieces of wafer paper with a wire in between for support and then I just bent it to make the loop.

Lovely! 😍👏🏻

Just as i thought Goreti… Those flowers are gorgeous.

Thanks everyone. Goreti sometimes my mind just can’t think of an easier way to do things. Wafer paper, brilliant idea! I went to YouTube and Pinterest and see all kinds of tutorials. Now, where did you buy your wafer paper Goreti? Am I looking for a certain kind?

Shirley, I am beginning to think of Goreti as my font-of-all-knowledge, a very clever lady! As for floral tape, I immediately thought, since it is sticky on one side, could you put two pieces together, sticky sides together, with a floral wire in between? You could easily trim the ends into a nice rounded shape and you would be able to bend it any way you chose. Disclaimer: This is theory, since I haven’t tried it!

Sandra I have been watching some tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest and that
s about how they do it. Now to find some longer floral wire. This arrangement isn’t for anything in particular, just something I have been wanting to try. This is a picture I sent Goreti too, what I have in mind as far as the leaves. But I also want to try her way of doing them with wafer paper too, just need to locate the right type of paper.

To me it looks like Bear Grass. You can purchase it online. I’ve seen it used on other cakes. Hope that helps. You an curl and twist it like that as well.

That is a gorgeous arrangement. Oh yes, I can see using wafer paper, too and it is easy to attach a covered wire with a small amount of edible glue. I have not made leaves, but I’ve made feathers, which is much the same. I ordered my wafer paper from either Amazon or eBay, don’t remember which. I read somewhere that rice paper, by some considered interchangeable with wafer paper, is not considered edible so stick with wafer paper.

It probably is bear grass, that is a fresh flower arrangement. I would be doing sugar flowers and I have done sugarpaste leaves for tulips etc. but I would like to learn to make a bendable leaf of either floral tape or Goreti’s suggestion of wafer paper.

Sandra I do have some rice paper, I will try that sometime. Just not sure it is as pliable as wafer paper might be. I saw some wafer paper on Amazon that even comes in green but all seem to be the same size, printer paper or typewriter paper size. Not sure how to make longer length leaves with that size paper. Need to watch a few more YouTube tutorials.

My wafer paper is 8- 1/2″ × 11″ too. Haven’t seen any larger. It also is not flexible and is easy to break. I don’t know a thing about how to use it, but I believe there are prducts you can use with it to make it less brittle.

I will do some checking online and see what I can find.
