Thank you everyone. After this I was reconsidering doing children cakes ( another Mom did not like my Barney cake because she said that the Barney was brown). You all have given me the courage to try again.

This cake is right out of the story book! She’s either crazy or was hoping to get a discount. I’ve heard people talk about saying they were dissatisfied to try to get a lower price. It’s a nasty thing to do when your work is clearly fantastic!

I think that would be the last cake she got from me! If she wasnt happy with this , you will never make her happy! This cake is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately theres just no pleasing someone have a customer exactly the same and hubby said she wouldn’’t be happy right from the initial order..maybe we should learn to listen to our other halves lol. AWESOME job as Mum of 9 and 2 step children I would have been stoked to be presented with this cake . Keep up the awesome work its fantastic !!! Cheers Renie

I totally agree with Peggy and farmersmom, I would not be making another thing for this woman! The best thing I have found about being a busines owner is I can really pick who I want to work with because there are some great customers out there! Don’t give up, as long as you love what you did that is all that matters! Some people are just moody and nothing will ever make them happy…..not your problem:) Keep up the good work!

First of all, the cake is beautiful! It sounds like you have done business with this lady before. It also sounds like this should be the last cake you do for her. When I first started I had a customer that I did 3 cakes for… and she was unhappy with each one of them. When she called to order the 4th cake, I very politely told her that she had complained and been unhappy with the previous 3 cakes and that she should really find another cake person that could perform to her expectations. It think she was the first client I “fired”.

She needs to get her eyes checked. These are the types of clients you politely say “NO” to next time as they cannot be pleased! The cake is beautifully done and the details are fabulous. You did a great job on this cake. Chin up! Sending you positive and loving thoughts!

Your figures are totally perfect! The cake is gorgeous, and anyone would be more than happy with it.
If you was really unhappy with the 1st order, she would never have ordered again, sounds like she was just wanting to try to get some money off.
Don’t take it too personally, there are some horrid people in this world unfortunately.
If she tries to order again (which I suspect that she will), then you will know what she was actually happy with it, and just a chancer.xx

I had a cleint like that. They begin stalking me with emails and phone calls. I had to turn it over to my attorney and they left me alone.
You did an awesome job and sometimes people will do and say things to hurt you. I don’t think anything you would have done would have made them happy. Just know your work is beyond excellent! Keep up the good work:)

That customer needs her head read!!! Think your cake is brilliant and the detail suits the size of the cake. It is well modeled and detailed and that customer is so undeserving of your talent and time afforded to her. Next time she asks for a cake, I would double your price !! I would have been thrilled to bits knowing the time and effort that cake entailed!

I never would have known the bottom tier was buttercream! It’s so smooth!! This cake is so cute and so beautifully detailed! I hope you don’t take what your crazy customer said to heart. The cake is amazing! That woman is off her rocker. She must like your work or she wouldn’t come back, but I’d still tell her to take a hike next time she calls if I were you. Or at least tell her that you’re already booked up that day. Some people are more trouble than they are worth.

Sounds like she was just looking for a discount. If she really wasn’t happy the first time, why did she come back to you with another order? Hope you charged her full price. The cake is great and there is no need for more details.

Brilliant work on this cake, I must say! People don’t realize that we, as cake decorators put in many many hours of work in creating just one cake. When we break it down into an hourly pay, its quite megere and to top it all, to get feedback like this!!! If she EVER comes back to you next time, please make sure that you charge her double.
