Violet, I just read your little introduction, and I’m so glad you decided to start posting your cakes here on Cakes Decor. You are very talented! I know family comes first, (I babysit my 3 young grandchildren every week day), and know how hard it is to find time to make cakes. Hope you continue with your cake passion and look forward to seeing more of your lovely creations!

Thanks so much Toni for your sweet message! That means a lot coming from someone whose work I admire! It’s been a good break as I was starting to feel a bit uninspired due to being too busy to enjoy the artistic, creative side of it. It’s a lot to squeeze into just a few days of the week and sometimes your hands are tied because of what they want. I’ve realized with this time off though that I still enjoy decorating and the beauty of a well decorated cake, as well as the joy it brings others, but I also must not lose sight of the creative aspect. I’m gonna have to find a way to balance it but I think taking on less requests as well as what type I take on will help. Thanks again for such a sweet gesture! =D

Yes, that’s what I do Violet. I only take on cakes that I really want and love to do. So it’s usually only for family and friends.

Can I ask a quick question? The TM after your name do you have to apply for this?

No, it’s not a registered trademark (those are marked with an ‘R’ inside a circle), so you don’t have to apply or pay for it but it just lets people know the name is my intellectual property, like when people use the copyright symbol. You can check it out trademarks on-line at Wikipedia which is where I looked it up (plus a few other sites but I can’t remember the others offhand right now).
