Oh wow! So cool! Great job and so sweet. Love the 21 for the house number…it’s those little details that make a cake special.

Lovely work as always. I just love this one. <3

So beautiful! Can I ask what cutters you used for the larger sunflowers?

I cut the sunflowers freehand actually! These are the first flowers of any sort I’ve made and I didn’t feel it warranted the expense of new cutters, and the Wilton daisy set just wasn’t big enough. I plan to do a tutorial on my Facebook page in the next couple of days, so feel free to stop by and have a look. They were super-easy.

This is beautiful!

Seeing this beside the painting just blows my mind. You, my dear, are TRULY an artist.

this cake is pretty in the other picture, but with the sunlight on it makes it pop! You can see the dimension of it. It is truly lovely!

Amazing! Real art!

Saw you on paggy’s page, beautiful!!

Thank you, everyone! Such lovely comments. It was such a fun cake to do and not that scary at there was no height or size involved! I could just really enjoy watching it all come together.

Is that blue on the side of the cake fondant or butter cream? What kind of icing do you use it’s so perfectly smooth!

Hi, KittyCakes! Thanks for the compliment. It’s fondant… in this case it’s Satin Ice fondant tinted blue. I hate Satin Ice as a rule – you have to work so quickly or it cracks and wrinkles, but for this cake I just wrapped a strip around the cake as the top was going to be covered in green. I’ve never tried smoothing buttercream, but it’s on my list of things to attempt this year!

Wow, Oceania! What a lovely comment! I’m so glad you liked the cake. It was so fun to do – I was able to do most of the decorations in advance and then seeing them all come together on the finished cake was great. Thank you!
