snowflake wedding cake

Snowflake wedding cake!!
6, 8, 10 and 12 inch cakes, covered in fondant, airbrushed in pearl, then dusted with a sparkly petal dust. I used a pretty piece of ribbon at the base of each cake.
Snowflakes were made using an assortment of snowflake cutters, including some plunger cutters, and a nice set of cutters that I bought at Williams Sonoma. Snowflakes were cut out of 100 % gumpaste, allowed to dry completely, attached to assorted wire guages using royal icing, allowed to dry again, airbrushed in pearl, and immediately dipped into petals dust and edible glitter while still damp from the airbrush color. The snowflakes had to dry completely before transporting, along with the cakes, to the venue, where I attached them after I got the cake assembled!!
after the cake was completely assembled, I used some tiny, battery operated candle lights, that I bought at Hallmark, and I hid them behind the snowflakes, giving a beautiful glow surrounding the cake!!
This is my favorite cake ever! it seemed appropriate for the upcoming holiday season!!

I made this for my parents 50th wedding anniversary! The design was inspired by a Syliva Weinstock cake.
6, 8, 10, 12, & 14 inch round cakes, covered in fondant and airbrused in a pearl color. Each tier has fondant ‘pearls’ at the base. The gumpaste flowers were: lilies of the valley, roses, orchids, and some stephanotis that have pretty little crystals wired into the centers!!

baptism cake

6 inch and 9 inch round cakes, covered in fondant, (Jennifer Dontz recipe)
the bottom tier was quilted, then decorated with tiny crosses that I made using my CRICUT machine. After the crosses were cut out of Wilton sugar sheets, I painted them with silver airbrush paint, then coated in some silver petal dust, very gently!!
the top tier is simply decorated with a fondant drape, I cut some delicate edges on the drape with a nice set of cutters/embossers that I received as a gift! Both pieces of the fondant drape were heavily dusted with pearl dust, and edible glitter. the entire cake was dusted with pearl petal dust and edible glitter.
Handmade gumpaste roses on the top and middle tier were dusted with pearl dust to keep with the SIMPLE white and silver theme of the cake.
the cake board is covered in fondant. the letters on the cake board were made using my CRICUT machine.
the cake ‘topper’ is a beautiful silver cross, that was a gift for the baby!

As you can probably tell, I use my CRICUT any time I need so write/pipe a greeting on a cake. I HATE piping on cakes, in my opinion, if the writing isn’t done meticulously, it can detract from an otherwise beautiful cake. I’ve used tappits, and other cutters, but with my CRICUT, I have access to hundreds of fonts, in sizes ranging from teeeeny tiny, to GIGANTIC. I find it so much easier to use than my tappits… just a personal preference, I guess.
Thanks for looking! ~~

After the butterflies were cut out, I painted them with some thinned out tylose glue then covered them in edible glitter!!
the top rose was made using standard, gumpaste roses cutters, but I made them from the outside, in…. in reverse order, so to speak. my client wanted the number one to be coming out of the center of the rose, which is why I made it it reverse!!
