This is the cake I made for Holly’s school, Mothers Day Fundraiser. I used the Rose I had made for the Gazette using Lisa of LMCakeDesign beautiful tutorial. I used bright colours as opposed to the usual Mothers Day colours.

When I saw this dress online, I knew I HAD to make it into a cake like the one Mayen of Way Beyond Cakes by Mayen made for her daughter. I purchased the fabulous tutorial and here is the result. Thanks Mayen! I had to cheat a little in a few areas as I was SO short of time. I used a Dolly Varden pan (I think a Wonder Mold pan is the same) instead of carving.
All month Jasmine had been asking…”Mummy…is that Jasin’s cake?” and everytime I had to say, no not this one gorgeous…soon. Well, you should have seen her face when she saw this AND that she had a matching dress! She said “Mummy, Jasin a princess?” naaaaw!! :’)

What a busy week I’ve had…one of my favourite cakes was this Tigger cake for James. I loved making this and can’t wait to do another Tigger…maybe bouncing on his tail next time…he’s such a happy little guy!
I would LOVE to know the story behind Jame’s outfit at his party too haha! Looks like a fun night :) x

I recently made this baby Butt cake for a friend. I always worry as the first time I made one, the Mum to be was a bit reluctant to cut into it haha!
This was pretty challenging as I painted the ‘blanket’ when it was in place so it was quite fiddly. You can find my basic tutorial for the method I use here -Leopard Print Tutorial
The name plaque is from the fabulous range by Not Just Cakes by Annie :)

I made this cake as a surprise for Matty who was turning 30.
The cake is milk choc mud with milk choc ganache. The water is blue Royal Icing with piping gel over the top. I covered the shark in white fondant and hand painted all the colour in layers to give it a more realistic look, I then sprayed the sharks skin with Pearl Shimmer to give it that wet skin look.
this was a lot of fun…and I found making the 3 rows of razor sharp teeth surprisingly therapeutic lol!

I made this cake for lovely Mikaylee who was turning 13 and loves surfing, Kombi vans and all things ‘Hippie’
I used the fabulous Wireframed Figurine Tutorial by Nicholas Ang of Cake Over Heels to make Mikaylee’s surfer chick…she was so easy to do with his tutorial, I can’t wait to make another.
The cake was vanilla with white choc ganache and the Kombi was carved styro (cake would have been SO much easier!!) so Mikaylee could keep the whole topper :) x

Soft and pretty Baby shower cake for Teagan. There are lots of ‘borrowed’ elements in this cake so I thank whoever came up with them first :) x

Our Gorgeous friend Mel turned 30 last week (whippersnapper!!) and I had the pleasure of making a birthday cake for her High Tea. We had a lovely day and I think Mel liked her cake.
I made her a White Chocolate mud cake with a fresh raspberry puree and white chocolate ganache. It was a little bit tasty haha! The decoration is handrolled fondant and Royal Icing piping.

The cake that nearly died in Sydney’s humidity! 6” double barrel base tier consisting of Vanilla cake with white choc ganache and caramel mud with caramel ganache. Top tier of rich chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream.
All the fish etc were supposed to be hand painted but the humidity was so high that pearl lustre had to suffice.
This cake fought me till the end, and I had wanted to do this theme for so long. I wanted it to be perfect for my gorgeous friend, never mind :(

This cake was for Holly’s lovely teacher Mrs Blackley. In my mind it started off as a small cake and with just 24 hours notice it grew to a large cake for 90 (the whole small school) with a full size stiletto on it! What a rush! At 4am I was convinced it was going to be a disaster…by 6am I was slightly less panicked.
Mrs Blackley loved it.

Jack LOVES Ben 10 so I broke my no cupcake rule for him to add maximum Ben 10 punch!
Vanilla cupcakes with black tinted vanilla buttercream and hand cut toppers. All shading has been done using petal dusts. The cake is an 8” white chocolate mud cake.

Thomas wanted a Dinosaur for his 3rd birthday. I vaguely remembered the fabulous Debbie Brown had done a cute Baby Dino in one of her books, but by the time I worked out which one, it was too late to get hold of a copy so I had to wing it. Thanks Toni O’Grady for helping me track down which book it was ♥ I hope I haven’t botched it too much Debbie ;) Never mind…Thomas loved it ;) x

Lovely Brooke thinks my vanilla cake with white choc ganache is pretty yummy. So when she contacted my about her 30th birthday, I decided to surprise her with an extended tier so she would have left over cake to enjoy after her party. She wasn’t sure what she wanted, just as long as it was ‘pretty and pink’. The flowers are my first attempt at filler flowers (I have to find time to watch Jacqueline Butler’s Craftsy class) and the Quatrefoil stencil on the side is Royal Icing.
