I made this engagement cake for a young professional couple—I’ve known them for quite some time.

All the elements on the cake were made out of gumpaste & fondant. I cut the silhouettes (made out of gumpaste) with an exacto knife. BTW, I don’t own a printer (with food color cartridges) or a cricut.

The cake was inspired by another engagement cake the groom-to-be found. He wanted a small house in the back drop since they recently purchase their own house. In addition, he wanted their initials “carved” on the tree. He orchestrated the entire engagement scenario—the plan was well executed. Most importantly, she said yes. They are a beautiful couple! All in all it is one of the most romantic engagement cakes I’ve made in a long time.
