Sock Monkey Cake

This was a 3 tier (if you count the hat on top it’s actually 4 tiers) topsy turvey birthday cake with a fabric textured sock monkey theme for an adorable 5 year old. The very top was the hat which was vanilla, then red velvet, chocolate, and the bottom was vanilla, all covered in fondant, with fondant and gumpaste accents. The sock monkey, and the pom-pom on the top of the hat were RKT covered in fondant. The knitting needles and socks hanging off the cake and on the base were a fondant/gumpaste mix. The red in the argyle print was hand piped RI. This cake was a lot of work, but one of my favorites, I loved making it! TFL!
