Bottom tier is chocolate cocoa cake with crushed up Joe Joes icing (like an oreo) for a filling. Middle tier is alternating layers of red velvet and chocolate cocoa cake. Top tier is red velvet cake. Ears are made out of York Peppermint patties. Entire cake is iced in vanilla buttercream including ears. MMF accents and bow. TFL.

Thank you both!! Benni – I don’t like using gumpaste if I don’t have to, especially on kiddos cakes. I have tried cookies before, but they’re just not stable enough. The skewers stick in to the peppermint patties really well and who doesn’t love York peppermint patties? lol First time I have tried icing the ears like this, actually worked out pretty well with viva!
