I decided to make my own wedding cake (in hindsight maybe not the best idea!) I made the sugarpaste flowers a few weeks before the wedding, and the week of the wedding I made a 12inch victoria sponge for the bottom layter, 10 inch chocolate sponge, 8inch carrot cake and a 6 inch coffee cake. It turned out amazingly well! ...unfortunately I didnt get to eat any on the wedding day and there was none left by the end of the night but everyone said it was lovely!!
