Sorry about the name! I never know what to call the cakes!!
The bottom tier is lemon sponge with a lemon curd and buttercream filling, Middle tier is a rich fruit cake and the top tier is a Madeira sponge with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam. The topper was made from flower paste which was so fragile. It snapped the night before and I had a bit of a panic on but managed to fix it by adding the little blossoms at the bottom to give it added stability.
The bride just wanted a simle design incorporating hearts and pearls above the ribbon so I came up with this. I made her a sample cake so she could approve it first as I think it never looks the same when you try to just draw it. What we see in our heads doesn’t always transfer to paper! (Well it doesn’t with me anyway!!) ha ha ;/
