Per CC guidelines, I couldn’t post this cake until after 8/21, and then I forgot about it a little. It was featured in the July 2013, Volume 4 Issue 7 issue of Cake Central magazine. It was part of the “Wedding Floral Ranunculus Yellow” photo story.
I had a great time making this cake, although the inspiration photo they used in the magazine was not the same image they gave me to work from. I used several new techniques on this cake, like brush embroidery and using edible chalks on the bottom tier. I had a blast making it and we took our own pictures this time, which was fun too. I still waited until the last minute to get my pictures in, but I was happy with the results.
FYI – Each of those full sized rannuculus flowers took me about 8 hours to make. I don’t think any of my customers could ever afford for me to recreate it!!
