Reams of poems and prose have been dedicated to this holy nexus. When Jerry John and Terry John gave me the brief for a dream cake for their nephew Ethan’s Baptism, Cake Canvas was lost in the challenge of portraying the pure innocence of a sleeping child and the ethereal presence of angels. But then, one never has to look too far to see inspiration. After tucking in my children, I lingered on to watch their face, the calm, peaceful sleep of children with a bonus smile in their sleep thrown in. Cake Canvas has tried to capture that half smile you might have seen on the face of your sleeping angel.
As for the flying angel, watching circus was the clincher!!! Lot of wires, lot more failures and frustration later, the angel did fly. Heavenly help was also asked and given in abundance for the angel to finally float.
