Shades of Summer

These cakes were made this afternoon and entered into a competition with Pretty Witty cakes.
The brief was to produce 6 cakes, each different with a floral theme that was evocative of Summer.
Roses, Hydrangeas, Lilacs, Gerbera daisies, Petunias, and Summer blossom are the flowers that say Summer to me.

These are so gorgeous Karen! I love all of the flowers, but may be a bit partial to the hydrangeas because it is my favorite flower!!

Thanks Elli, Toni and Andie. It doesn’t matter if I don’t get anywhere, I had fun anyway.
I love hydrangeas too, I love the way they start off that lovely lime shade, and bleed through into their full blown colour. It’s like watching ink slowly seep through blotting paper. And the colours are so varied.
