Customer wanted bright, bold, vibrant colored daisies (specified hot pink and purple) and butterflies for a friend’s cake. I was out of gumpaste so everything is fondant on this one. The cake itself is a 6/4" tiered coconut cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. I really wanted to try a gerber daisy tutorial that I had found earlier this past week but I didn’t have the right cutters. So I made up my own! I have tons of ideas for improvement if I do these little gals again. Oh and I also didn’t have the right gauge wire (yes, it was one of those weeks) so I had to adhere the flowers on the cake with toothpicks. What a week!
