Last year, my mom and I visited NYC together. It was one of the best vacations I’ve taken, just the two of us enjoying the sights and sounds. We stumbled upon a little corner cafe while we were in Little Italy called Cafè Roma and had the best cannoli and coffee while we at a sidewalk table and watched the people walk by. I couldn’t take her back to NYC for her birthday, so I made her this cake to look like our table on the sidewalk. It’s covered in modeling chocolate with little fondant cannoli’s and coffee.
