I was contacted by ACDN early this year, asking me to submit my work for their winter Cake! edition. The mood board was pink, white and gold with a hint of green.
Oh the possibilities! Ideas…ideas..and a million more later I knew I wanted it had to have more than one texture on it. I chose to make the flowers out of rice paper, a new medium for me.
Top tier: covered with cashous and handpainted with edible gold paint.
Second tier: kept plain , covered with pale pink pearl finish and fondant gold buttons.
Third tier: hand brushed gold paint.
Bottom tier: Entire tier covered with close to 100 different sized rice paper rectangles.
