A regular customer of mine reached out about a week ago asking if I could make a Ruby anniversary cake for her mum and dad. They met at a basket weaving class in college hence the basket weave, dad’s favourite flavour is coffee cake, which suits basket colours perfectly. Mum’s favourite flower is the peony, and she loves all things pink. I just had to do this one, and despite all the heat and buttercream drama it’s been one of my most satisfying projects to date.
