Its always a massive undertaking and daunting task to make any family members wedding cake but when its your own daughters you can multiply that by 100!
This cake was designed by Leigh my daughter and brought to life by me (hopefully close to how she wanted it!)
It took me the best part of four days to bake and decorate.
Top tier is a false tier – this was added for height as she only needed three tiers to cover the number of guests expected.
Next tier is rich chocolate cake with white chocolate ganache and white chocolate buttercream. Then there is a lemon tier with lemon curd and lemon butter cream and finally the bottom tier was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry preserve.
We had very hot weather unusually which caused a few problems with drying but otherwise all went smoothly.
