A first birthday cake to match the party theme of whales & anchors, with a nautical twist. The cakes are all vanilla filled with vanilla buttercream. The ‘smash’ cake on top is covered in buttercream & then encrusted in organic sugar to resemble sand. The anchor is fondant, as well as the shells, which I made from molds I created from actual shells gathered from DeWees Island off the coast of South Carollina. LOVE the baby sand dollar! The bottom tier has whales frolicking in fondant waves, blowing their little water spouts.
