A Harry Potter-themed book cake for Lauren’s 25th Birthday. The original design is by Sweet Blossom Cakes, who was gracious enough to even tell me how to make the Hogwarts crest for the front of the book. (It’s modeling chocolate in a mold made from a fridge magnet.)
The leather texture was created by rolling scrunched up foil on the fondant. Thank you, Divine Cakes!
This cake started life as a quarter sheet cake. I cut it in half and stacked it up, so it became a 9″ × 6″ rectangle, 5" high and served 27 people with 1 × 2″ portions.
