Community Festival Cupcake Competition
I received a leaflet through my door a few weeks ago advertising a community festival in our village. The leaflet explained that there would be cakes and ice creams for sale, a village baby contest, a teddy bear competition, a fire engine, some real owls on display, a stall about hedgehogs and a Viking village and re-enactment show. But best of all the leaflet said there would be a cupcake competition too! This is my first entry to a live competition where the judges not only went on the look, but also the taste and texture of the cakes. So I made a story board of all the events, depicting one per cupcake. For variety, half were chocolate fudge cake with milk chocolate ganache and the other half were fresh lemon and raspberry cakes. As the show got nearer I became worried that one of the events might get cancelled and so I made a little “cancelled” sign just in case, but luckily it wasn’t needed! I won first prize.
