I used to bake cupcakes, banana cakes, brownies and some other breads for my kids but I never attempted to make big cakes for a special occasion. I’m afraid I cannot make one presentable.
When a close friend in need of a cake but has no budget to buy an expensive one, I tried my luck. I made a vanilla icing, topped on ready made cupcakes. I attempted to bake a chocolate moist cake, added vanilla icing at the center and covered with fondant icing. Copied patterns for a pair of tiny shoes. With the help of a small knife, forks, and chop sticks I was able to decorate my fondant and viola, I did it!
I refused payment with my first and second cakes. Good feedbacks are enough to push me back to bake and decorate some more.
