Iphydol, the pattern is achieved with a stencil (food grade) and can be applied using a number of methods. I use royal icing majority of the time. There a number of videos on You Tube which are helpful in demonstrating how it’s done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-xpQaLPE04
