I received an email on Sunday night for this cake from a very regular customer and as soon as he said the Birthday girl was into baking I knew what I wanted to do. So I messaged the lovely Julie at Creative Cakes by Julie and asked if she minded if I used her design. She kindly gave me permission and this is my interpretation of her design. I would have used other colours but pink is a favourite of the birthday girl. The cookie is rather symbolic of summer in NZ and I wanted to make it Hokey Pokey (a fabulous flavour with bits of honey comb) but the colous didn’t work. This is one of my favourite cakes I guess because it is all about baking.
