In the Cayman Islands, it is traditional for the bride and groom to give small slices of fruit cake to their guests. In years past, this was usually from the actual wedding cake, but today’s couples reserve the fruit cake to give to the guests and enjoy “light cake” (i.e. vanilla, chocolate, carrot, etc.) as their wedding cake instead. This was done for a wedding and was sliced to give guests tasting portions to carry home with them. TFL!
