This cake was created for a writer. The brief was a book and quill but I expanded on the idea to personalise it a little more by creating glasses similar to those owned by Avril, a pink cockatoo coffee cup (or tea cup style as it turned out to be as the first coffee mug I created looked clunky and odd) and adding a few of her favourite bikkies. I also painted the text on the page to spell out MUM. The cake was huge too, created from two 7″ × 11″ × 4″ cakes and a tonne of dark choc ganache! Everything is handcrafted and 100% edible – aside from the base board…! Thanks for looking!
