Forty Shades of Fifty Shades.
This fondant covered cake is a moist vanilla pound cake with a vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam filling and was made for a friend’s 40th birthday (hence the play on words) but was ordered a month too early!!! It was my first (and hopefully last!) experience of having to freeze an entire cake but, thank God, it all turned out well in the end. The recipient loved it and has reported back that, despite the fact she didn’t want to cut it, it tasted beautiful. Phew!!! :oD
