This cake was for a retiring chef and is a fondant covered chocolate cake. I painted white fondant with ivory gel color to achieve the wood grain look. All decorations on top of cake was made out of fondant or gumpaste. I included portobello mushrooms, green onions, carrot, strawberries, and a salmon filet since the chef’s signature dish was salmon.
