I made this cupcake tower for my grandson’s monkey themed first birthday. It was my first time making a figure. The monkey topper and number 1 made from fondant and gumpaste. I think he turned out pretty cute, but I also think I need a lot more practice. Thank you Diane, BellaCakes & Confections for your monkey cupcake inspiration. Yours were way cuter. My daughter did not want my grandson to have any cake (they are into healthy eating), so I carved his name into a watermelon, hollowed out the top, and filled it with an assortment of chopped fruit. He had his own little fruit bowl to squish into. Not the same as cake, but he seemed to love it all the same! The guests had their choice of chocolate cupcakes, or carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Cupcakes topped with fondant monkey faces, bananas, and leaves. Thank you so much for looking
