Tower of Refuge, Isle of Man

I made and donated this cake to be raffled off in aid of Comic Relief. Royal London held a Manx bake-off day and I was asked to co-judge the lovely selection of cakes made by the staff. There was a decorated cake category and also a general category which I had to taste test…. terrible job, but someone has to do it LOL !!! The Tower of Refuge is located in Douglas Bay and was built by Sir William Hillary following a terrible accident when a ship hit the rock and many lives were lost. The kind lady who won the cake took it to Rebecca House, a children’s Hospice so the children could enjoy it… how lovely ;)
