Rose made using LMCakeDesign here on cakesdecor. Really like how easy it is but I don’t think my petal placement is exactly right. I am never truly happy with my roses. Somehow they never seem realistic enough to me. Anyone have an suggestions! Maybe I’m just not meant to master the “rose”.

Thank you all. I actually liked doing without tools. Found it very easy to get a nice thin petal that way. Just not 100% happy with how I attached the petals. Maybe it’s just me. Too picky I guess.

This looks great, I’m going to have to have a go at this. I really struggle with roses too.

I think it looks gorgeous Goreti! I love the coloring. Did you start with yellow gumpaste and then use pink petal dust on the tips?

I did it like the tutorial. Yellow then adding a little pink putting a little more here & there on the tips. I did use a little petal dust to try to make it as realistic as possible.

Absolutely gorgeous Goreti! Such a lovely job! Im so pleased you tried it! Only because you asked… I have One little tip… your petal placement is perfect! But the petals are going on a little too soft. So you just need to leave them on the spoons for a little tiny bit longer ….. don’t let them fully dry. You need to work reasonably fast. Make say 4 – 5 and then go back to the first one and glue that on, then your second etc.. What you want in consistency is the petal to still be malleable so you can place it on without it fracturing. If they are too dry they will break! , then you can make your next ones and glue them… as you get more practiced and alot faster you can make 10 or 20 petals and add them before they dry, so start off slow making fewer petals (Feeling or texture wise: When you pick the petal up it should still have movement!) I do hope this helps and I haven’t just confused you lol!!! YOU have got it now! This is beautiful and with a little bit more practice everyone will think you have picked them! Sugar hugs xxx

No, I think I understand Lisa. Thank you so much for the pointers. I knew it wasn’t quite right. I’ll have to practice a little more.
