A lucious chocolate cake filled with coffee meringue buttercream and covered with marshmallow fondant. The decorations are a blend of candy clay and gumpaste accented with sugar pearls in black and silver.

Thank you. I’ve been wanting to do a black and white for a long time, and was considering doing a dummy when my DD asked for a cake for her co-worker. The gumpaste/candy clay mix was a nightmare because it went all sticky (never happened before—either the less expensive (lower quality?) powdered sugar or maybe too much extra black color added to the cc). In the end I was pleased with the way it turned out, and the birthday girl (woman) and her co-workers all loved it.
